I live with my husband Ed, in Northeast Portland. We have two children–our daughter graduated from high school in 2020, and our son just recently graduated in June 2022. We have a 9 year old Husky/Border Collie mix named Roxy. She is our baby.
I am an art director and graphic designer who has lived in Portland, Oregon for over 20 years. Originally from the beautiful island of Guam, USA, "Where America's Day Begins,” I moved out here shortly after high school to pursue a better education, as the university back home was unaccredited at the time. I graduated with a degree in Graphic Design from Portland State University and have been visually fascinated by this city ever since.
I’m skilled in a variety of categories of design. I’ve concepted, created, developed, produced, critiqued, hired, motivated, promoted, translated, versioned, printed, packaged, posted, re-posted, hash-tagged, tweeted, photographed, written, branded, marketed two-dimensionally as well as IRL. I have designed print pieces for Buckman Elementary’s Art Show & Sell for 4 consecutive years, volunteered for Design Week Portland, and co-chaired two very successful auctions for St. Rose School, back to back. My career at Kroger was spent concepting, art directing and designing over 50 produced commercials and online videos.
My work title is currently Senior Visual Communications Strategist, one of three designers working in a team of 10 in the Multnomah County Health Department’s Communications and Marketing team. I’ve found working for the county to be extremely fulfilling as I am able to serve my community in a way that is a unique, educational, and meaningful experience.
I’ve fallen in love with Portland’s food scene and find myself swiping through Instagram photos in search of the most beautiful plating ideas or most original dining environments on a daily basis. I believe that Anthony Bordain had the best job in the world, and will forever be altered (saddened? puzzled? affected?) by the very loss of his existence. In my dreams, I would be doing exactly what he was doing – traveling, eating, drinking, conversing, learning… celebrating.
